The Midnight Walk

This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence to fantasy characters and scenes of moderate horror. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age.
First-person puzzle adventure game in which players take on the role of ‘The Scorched One’ in a world where someone has stolen the sun and its light. Players will team up with a small creature called ‘Potboy’ who has the power to produce fire. Gameplay revolves around solving puzzles and hiding from enemies.

Rating issues

There is a dark and creepy atmosphere throughout the entire game with characters who may be scary to younger players. There are frequent horror sequences throughout with the player being chased by scary and intimidating creatures and there is a sense of panic as players must hide to evade capture. Intense, roaring sounds can be heard throughout these sequences. If players are caught during this, the screen cuts to black and the player respawns at their last checkpoint.

The game also contains depictions of realistic looking violence towards fantasy characters. As the player is searching through a cave, they find an enemy and shoot at them with a fantasy-style gun. When hit, the creature falls to the ground and can be heard roaring in pain.

Other issues

The player enters a town called “Nobodyville” which is inhabited by dismembered heads. There is no gore detail and characters are cartoonish with a Claymation style.
