Role-playing game, the latest instalment in the Trails franchise, which follows the intersecting stories of three protagonists – Rean, Lloyd and C – as they respond to a number of mysterious threats across Zemuria.

Rating issues

There is a casino location in the game in which the player is able to learn how to play and bet on games such as blackjack and poker. Whenever the player loses the following text is displayed: “The pot will be even bigger if you continue playing. Are you in?”.

Other issues

The game also features frequent depictions of non-realistic looking violence towards human and fantasy-like characters, in the context of turn-based combat. Bright lights and magical effects appear when characters are hit, with numbers indicating the amount of damage that is being inflicted. When a character’s health bar has been depleted, some immediately vanish from the battlefield in a cloud of red and black smoke, whilst others remain visible.

The game also includes infrequent mild bad language and a sequence in which the player’s character is encouraged to focus on a female character’s cleavage.
