METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER

This game has received a PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This rating has been given because it features use of graphic and sexual violence, sometimes against vulnerable and defenceless characters, and strong language.
Remake of the 2004 game METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER, in which players take on the role of Snake as he attempts to rescue Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov, sabotage an experimental super-weapon, and assassinate his former boss.

Rating issues

This game contains graphic violence, with scenes of characters being stabbed in the throat with copious blood effects and scenes of torture, including electrocution towards characters who are bound and defenceless. There are also scenes of sexual violence, which include multiple scenes of characters having their clothed breasts or genitals grabbed without consent. The violence does not progress further than this.

This game contains the use of strong language including ‘fuck. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘bastard’, ‘bitch’ and ‘whore’.

Other issues

Cinematic sequences include frequent scenes of Snake and others smoking and drinking. During gameplay, the player is able to actively make Snake smoke the cigar in his inventory. Despite the warning that it is harmful to his health, the smoke from these is able to benefit Snake.
