There is a constant sense of threat throughout as the player seeks to complete tasks while avoiding sinister characters closing in on them. If the sinister character reaches the player, there is a sudden ‘jump scare’ in which the character lurches towards the screen and the screen fades to black. The sense of threat is underpinned by eerie sound effects, such as laughter and footsteps coming towards the player, as well as by the darkness and dim lighting.
