‘Burnhouse Lane’ contains depictions of graphic violence, including torture and dismemberment towards human characters. The game’s prologue also features strong themes and depictions of suicide.
Graphic violence is typically accompanied with large amounts of blood and realsitic pain and suffering. The game also features violence towards vulnerable characters who are unable to defend themselves.
This collection contains the use of strong language, including ‘fuck’ and its derivatives. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘shit’, ‘bastard’ and ‘bloody’.
‘No Son of Mine’ features strong graphic imagery including violence towards a child.
Other issues
‘Burnhouse Lane’ contains prominent use of tobacco throughout. In order to save their progress, players must approach an ashtray and choose to smoke. At one point in the game, the player offers an NPC a cigarette. The player then must press a button to light the cigarette.
Strong, gory images are present throughout the collection. Players will often witness the corpses of both humans and animals whose ribcages and entrails are visible. Blood splatters can be seen across environments and intimidating enemies will often chase the player, creating a sense of dread.
There are references to sexual violence in ‘Burnhouse Lane’, but no depictions are shown.
There are strong themes of suicide in this collection.
