Rating issues
There are frequent depictions of demon characters having their heads and limbs dismembered, and large splatters of blood often accompany this. There are moments where the player can decapitate more human-looking demons; the player is prompted to repeatedly press a button to attack these characters. The camera zooms in on shots of the player’s character rapidly moving their blades back and forth. The aftermath is then seen of the demon’s head flying off of their body. Flashes of light often accompany this, but there is no blood detail. One of these characters, even after decapitation, still speaks and remains “alive”. Cut scenes throughout the game depict strong, realistic violence towards human characters. For example, in one scene, while running away with a decapitated head, a character is stabbed through the chest. A large splash of blood is seen on impact as the man screams in pain. During combat, violence is non-realistic to both human and fantasy characters. When attacked, flashes of light are seen on impact, as characters often jerk backwards. No blood or injuries are seen to her. When defeated, a cutscene is played to continue the story along.
Other issues
This game includes the use of bad language including ‘shit’, ‘piss’ and ‘bastard’.
This game contains sexual innuendo. During one pertinent scene, a woman is seen running towards the protagonist. As she does, the camera focuses on her breasts while the protagonist comments on them.
There are some disturbing images in this game. A camera zooms in on a woman’s body. She drops to her knees as a close-up of her head is seen falling off. Blood details are visible. Blood details are often seen throughout gameplay, both on the character’s bodies and in the environment. At one point in the game, a story is told of a demon that killed orphan children. The story is told via text. No images are shown of the children being hurt; however, their bloody corpses are seen via a still image. This may be distressing for some players.
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of bonus characters and cosmetic items, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
