Rating issues
This game contains violence towards vulnerable characters. In one scene, a child is violently slapped and knocked to the ground. Violence in the game is generally strong and realistic looking. There are some cutscenes where characters are shot in the head and/or limbs, which causes blood to spray out onto nearby surfaces, though there is no graphic detail. During player-driven combat, violence tends to lean more unrealistic, with enemies having health bars, recoiling dramatically, and colourful light effects occurring when hits land. It is possible to pick up weapons such as guns and knives during combat. Using these weapons causes blood effects and more realistic reactions.
This game also contains moving images that teach and/or glamorise traditional means of gambling. There are casinos and game centres that the player can enter. In these places, players can purchase chips using in-game money, which then allows them access to games such as poker, blackjack, baccarat and roulette. Each game has a rule list which players can access to learn the mechanics. If the player wins, they receive large sums of chips back and can then exchange those for in-game prizes.
Strong language is present throughout the game, including ‘fuck’ and its derivatives, as well as milder terms such as ‘bastard’, ‘shit’ and ‘piss’.
Other issues
The player can purchase and consume various alcoholic beverages, which results in a ‘drunk’ buff, making the character harder to control, as well as other additional positives such as increased strength and attack power.
Sexual innuendo is present throughout the game, including scenes of underwear-clad strippers dancing on poles suggestively, the camera panning across their bodies. There are also frequent references to prostitutes in dialogue.
There is one scene where aggressive sex noises are heard off-screen. A woman, at first, is moaning, but then begins to scream. A male then exits the room and tells his lackeys to ‘clean up the mess’. The scene follows the characters as they enter the room and find a dead woman with bruises all over her neck. Additionally, another scene shows the same male character grappling with a different woman whilst making sexual comments. The man’s hands remain grasping the woman’s wrists at all times. The woman is struggling to break free and is clearly uncomfortable with the sexual advances. Before the situation progresses any further, the player character interrupts and fights the aggressor.
There is a character that stands on a bridge and threatens to take their own life, but she is eventually talked down by the player character.
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of DLC which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
