Rating issues

This game contains moving images that teach and/or glamorise the use of games of chance that are played/carried out as a traditional means of gambling. The premise of the game is to collect money ($30,000) by the end of the in-game day in order to pay off a debt. Players can meet an NPC and play ‘Higher or Lower’. This game plays out as the character rolls a set of dice, adding up the values. The player then has to guess the next outcome with the options of the value being higher, or lower than the previous. If the player wins, they can then play an indefinite number of times, with the bet doubling with each win until they lose. Some encouraging terminology is used, alongside the word ‘Gambling’ being present in dialogue.

Other issues

In one area, the player comes across a man who is brewing an undisclosed substance that he refers to as ‘medicine’. He asks the player to help him collect ingredients in order to finish the concoction in exchange for a reward of $5000. If the player accepts, they will be tasked with finding a few things, including ‘suspicious mushrooms’. Once the player has found the required items and has returned to the man, the man will offer the player ‘a hit’, to which they can accept or decline. If accepted, the player character will shiver and become unwell, before a game over screen appears and the player respawns at an earlier save point.

This game contains non-realistic violence towards human, animal and fantasy characters. The player can drop bombs on enemies such as rats, birds and skeletons. Enemies that are damaged instantly explode and disappear, without blood or injury detail.
