The games in this collection feature combat between heroic human-like characters and enemy fantasy characters, such as bats, bugs and ghosts. Violence and reactions are non-detailed and unrealistic in nature: characters flash when hit and then disappear when defeated, often in puffs of smoke and without any visible harm. There is also combat between vehicles. The context suggest the vehicles are piloted by human characters, although damage to them is not seen.
