This game has received a PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This rating has been given because it features graphic violence and use of strong language.
BloodRayne: Definitive Edition unites all three entries in the action series. In each game, the story follows Rayne, a Dhampir who is recruited by a secret society that monitors and combats supernatural threats to humanity.

Rating issues

This collection contains depictions of graphic violence towards human and fantasy characters. In both ‘BloodRayne 1 & 2’, the player can dismember enemies, which causes large amounts of blood to spray out, and some enemies to scream in pain. If the player chops off an enemy’s arms or legs, they may continue walking/crawling for a short period of time, bleeding profusely before dying. Dismembered body parts and corpses remain on the ground indefinitely, as well as blood splatters.

This collection also contains the use of strong language, including ‘fuck’. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘bitch’, ‘bastard’ and ‘shit’.

Other issues

The third game in this collection, ‘BloodRayne Betrayal’, differs in style from the other two action games. This game is a beat ‘em up/platformer, with a cartoon style. Again, both human and fantasy enemies can be dismembered and have large amounts of blood effects, but the level of gore is reduced because of this game’s style and genre.

Sexual innuendo is present across all games. Characters can be heard making sexually suggestive comments towards the player’s character, and there are camera shots focused on her cleavage.
