Point and click horror adventure featuring heavily pixelated, faceless human characters. Starting with the death of a friend, you arrive at his home and must find out what happened to him and why.
Violent scenes include two suicides; the first a man reciting his last words while going through the steps required to successfully hang himself by picking up a rope, then securing it to the ceiling and making a noose before climbing a chair and kicking it away, leaving him kicking and struggling while he slowly asphyxiates and the second, a man sets himself alight and burns to death while another watches, unable to help.
There are also scenes of a character flogging himself in penance for his sins and another of a priest caning the hand of a student.
Due to the pixelated nature of the game, there are no graphic injuries shown but there are blood effects used throughout, often in scenes featuring decaying corpses which can be found in various locations including a man who has apparently died of an overdose in an opium den.
Inspired by the works of Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft, the game also has a dark and spooky atmosphere.
