Rating issues
This game contains depictions of violence towards vulnerable or defenceless human characters. There is a blind child that the player is tasked with protecting that can be injured or killed in certain levels. There is also a scene where a restrained character is sliced by a knife. There are also depictions of graphic violence towards human characters. The player character can be killed in a number of brutal ways that result in a large amount of detailed, realistic gore and blood. The player can also kill humanoid enemies in similar ways such as decapitation and dismemberment. Additionally, there are depictions of apparently motiveless killing or serious injury to multiple innocent human characters, including a scene where multiple civilians are injected with a serum that causes them to turn into zombies and go on to attack even more innocent bystanders.
This game also contains the use of bad language, including ‘fuck’ and its derivatives. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘shit’ and ‘bastard’
Other issues
There are intense and sustained horror sequences and strong gory images within this game. The player is relentlessly pursued by enemies, who aim to kill the player character in horrific ways. The stalker enemies are incredibly hard to kill and evade until later points in the game, so the player must rely on stealth. There are frequent jump scares and creepy atmospheres, and a high number of dead bodies with detailed and realistic gore.
This game offers players the opportunity to purchase in-game items in the form of cosmetic items, which some parents or carers may want to be aware of. Parents, carers or other responsible adults should check to see what is being offered before making any purchase on behalf of a child. It should be noted that the game can still be played without the need to purchase such items.
