‘Burnhouse Lane’ contains depictions of graphic violence, including torture and dismemberment towards human characters. The game’s prologue also features strong themes and depictions of suicide. Graphic violence is typically accompanied with large amounts of blood and realistic pain and suffering. The game also features violence towards vulnerable characters who are unable to defend themselves.
‘Anglerfish’ also contains scenes of human characters, bound and decapitated; unable to flee or fight back. Blood effects are shown.
This collection contains the use of strong language, including ‘fuck’ and its derivatives. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘shit’, ‘bastard’ and ‘bloody’.
Other issues
‘Burnhouse Lane’ contains prominent use of tobacco throughout. In order to save their progress, players must approach an ashtray and choose to smoke. At one point in the game, the player offers an NPC a cigarette. The player then must press a button to light the cigarette.
Strong, gory images are present throughout the collection. Players will often witness the corpses of humans with visible mutilations and wound details. Blood splatters can be seen across environments and intimidating enemies will often chase the player, creating a sense of dread.
There are references to sexual violence in ‘Burnhouse Lane’, but no depictions are shown.
