This rating has been given because it features use of strong language, violence against vulnerable and defenceless characters, graphic violence, motiveless killing of innocent characters and encouragement of use of controlled substances.

Rating issues

This game contains frequent use of strong language, including ‘f**k’ and ‘c**t’. Milder bad language is also present, including ‘shit’, ‘bollocks’, ‘bloody’ and ‘bastard’.

There are instances of violence towards vulnerable/defenceless characters in this game, whereby characters will be shown restrained without means to escape and tortured in ways such as being caned or branded with a hot iron.

This game also contains encouragement of the use of alcohol. Players can consume alcohol of their own accord, as well as being encouraged to drink as part of some quests. There is a ‘drinking’ skill progression which rewards positive perks the more that the player drinks.

Other issues

There are a number of NPCs that players can choose to have sex with. Some of these will only depict sex through sexual moans and noises against a blank screen, but there are some sex scenes which will show characters naked in bed. Breasts and buttocks can be seen but no genitalia are ever shown.

There are occasions where the player may come across dead bodies with some gore. Some bodies may be cut open with innards visible. There are also hanged bodies that can be found with dialogue alluding to themes of suicide.
