Violence in the game is sustained and bloody. While the majority of violence is directed against alien monsters, players must also fight human insurgents, who appear as heavily-armoured soldiers. When shot, struck by explosives or blasted with a flamethrower, they will emit large splatters of blood. Defeated enemies fall to the ground, where their bodies remain for a while before disappearing. Many environments are covered in blood and the dead bodies of both human and alien characters.
